Oklahoma Snow

Andrew has been thrilled by the snow in Tulsa. He could spend hours out there if I let him. Grace is finally able to play in the snow as well. Poor little Christopher has to watch from the window. While we were in Chicago for Christmas it snowed at least 9 inches. Since it has been cold, too, it stuck around long enough for the kids to play in it when we returned. The pictures are from Tom's golf course. They really had a blast there! This past week we started the period of unpacking all that we received. The kids were, once again, spoiled and could not decide what to play with first. Oh the decisions that a child has to make! LOL I think I will hoard the gifts and pull them out a little at a time since it has been too cold to go outside to do anything. It has been an unusually cold winter here. So far it has been on average 12 degrees lower than the norm - although this past week has been in the single digits. They say we have not had this cold of a winter since 2005. We stay vigilant on having running water on in the sinks, tubs, etc. since our pipes are not buried as deep as in colder areas and we do not want them to freeze. I just hope it kills all the spiders, etc. that just love to hang out in the warmer weather. LOL Having to stay indoors has given us time to do some work around the house. Everyone wants in on the action it seems. It is always fun to help Daggy with the tools!

Christmas 2009

So another Christmas Day come and gone. I did a little better job of being prepared early so that we could enjoy the time, but it is so easy to get caught up in the preparations. In any event, it was a wonderful Christmas. The kids were so excited and enjoyed being with family, playing in the snow, opening presents. They just love being with their cousins! I think if I could have wrapped that up in a box, they would have thought it was the best present ever!

Since my father was not present, I thought we would need a little silliness to get us through. Therefore it became a Snuggie Christmas Eve. Everyone, including my sister's dog got a personalized Snuggie (I added a pocket to the front of each one with a decal of something liked by the person). Although it may not go down in the record books as the best present received from me, it will certainly be up there as one of the most memorable. It was silly and fun.

Christmas morning brought more presents from us and from Santa. I love these moments and wish I could remember them moment by moment forever since the pictures and video do not do them justice. I think everyone was thrilled with every present and the apples in their stockings from Santa were awesome!

Welcome to my blog!

It has been my desire to find a way to keep everyone updated more regularly with our lives. After several attempts at web pages, email, etc. I hope this blog will do the trick.

We have been in Oklahoma for 1-1/2 years now and life is good. Although it is hard to be away from the people we love, Tom enjoys his job, I love being a stay-at-home mom and the kids enjoy it all.

Our home is coming along slowly. There never seems to be enough time or money to do everything you want when trying to decorate or improve your home. Since the kids keep us really busy, we make progress as we can.

The kids are definitely little pumpkins! As the blog title says, we ARE living in a pumpkin patch. They are adorable and funny. They truly love each other and stick up and watch out for each other. Every day brings some memorable moment either because it is a first or because they are just so funny. I am greatful each day, even when I am crabby or tired that God has given us this opportunity and that I am here to watch my children grow.
